Wayward Arts Magazine

A true labour of love, TAXI’s design of the new issue of Wayward Arts magazine was as much a team-building exercise as it was an expression of creativity. Our idea for the issue was to depict the theme of obsession by illustrating Edgar Allan Poe’s dark tale “The Black Cat.” We gave each designer a portion of the story and asked them to communicate the essence of each passage. At the back of the magazine, we created a roll fold so the viewer could easily read the full story while enjoying the visuals on each spread. With help from our friends at Grayson Matthews Music + Sound, we also created a website that houses a haunting audio recording of the story, an extremely dark version of a read-along book.
